Background
North Rock Gallery is run by partners, Mark Sinclair and Suzanne Shearer.
The Gallery opened in the early summer of 2009. The aim for the gallery space is to showcase art from local, national and international artists that is accessible, affordable and inspirational. The space houses a constantly evolving showcase of work from a variety of artists with artworks available for immediate purchase.
The ground floor is filled with design led, quirky, beautiful, fun, functional, practical, decorative gifts and homewares, suited to the modern home and individual.
The online store is an extension of our bricks and mortar shop selling the same range of desirable goods from designers such as ISAK, Rice, Donna Wilson, Lisa Jones, Orla Kiely and Phatsheep.
The couple count themselves lucky to have been born and brought up in the Shetland Isles, the most Northerly cluster of Islands in Great Britain. Both have spent time living in cities and love all that city life brings, but are happy to be settled back in Shetland running their own business. Shetland is a friendly, creative and inspirational place to live no doubt about it.

Philosophy
We spend a lot of our time sourcing stock for the shop and seeking out artists for the Gallery. Its a very enjoyable part of our daily workload and one we hope that we do well. We find our products from many different sources, year-round. We might spot something great on a blog, in a magazine, when on holiday or via word of mouth and do our best to source it for the Gallery.
We choose items that we love and hope that you will love them as much as we do.
We don’t stock anything that we wouldn’t be happy to either have in our home or give as presents to friends or family.
